Let's not get too carried away just yet--the 20-year-old year-old ex-member of One Direction have only been dating a few weeks. Even though this budding romance hasn't had time to develop into anything serious, a source reveals that some of Gigi's pals don't like her coupled up with the former boy-bander.
"Her friends do not quite understand what the attraction is," says an insider. "He is not her usual type, he doesn't share her sense of humor or ease with people [and] he's a little more self-aware and awkward."
Hey now, the 1D fellas' awkwardness is kind of part of their charm--isn't it? In any case, it seems that Gigi's friends just don't want her falling too hard, too fast for the British charmer. One insider notes that the model, whose exes include Cody Simpson and Joe Jonas, "could date anyone she wants." It's because of this, perhaps, that Gigi's friends are confused as to why she'd go for someone who doesn't necessarily roll with her same Hollywood clique.
Gigi seems to be just fine with Zayn as is! Plus, if we've learned anything from her dating life lately, it's that Gigi isn't a fan of people sticking their noses where they don't belong. As she tweeted to her 958,000+ followers just last week, "There's just no need to be judgmental about situations that are not your own. Let live."
