Okay..okay.. I'm truly sorry it may not kill you,but the potential damages are pretty devastating. I'm going to run down a few reasons why you might reconsider your stance on getting one,and if it's really worth the risk in getting one;
INFECTIONS: it shouldn't be surprising that an unsanitary tattoo parlor could put something more dangerous than that image on your body,infections!.
Infections can come from the tattoo itself, the tattooing pen,the tattoo artist and also the tattooing ink. So you may not know exactly where your infection might be coming from,I suggest you avoid the entire process entirely or use a very trusted tattoo parlor. Still infections from tattoos can cause rashes which can last for months. So if you feel any irritation,rash or prolonged pain,run to your doctor.
ALLERGIES: You also stand a big chance of developing an allergy to tattoo inks even if you didn't have any tattoo allergies prior to your first tattoo. Additional tattoos also increase your chances of developing an allergy to your tattoo later on. Tattoo allergies are difficult to treat and may involve taking certain steroids or having the tattooed area surgically cut out of the body. OUCH!!.
"HIDING EVIDENCE": Tattoos can also cover up health problems, preventing them from being discovered early. There are plenty reports of skin cancer being detected very late as a result of early symptoms being covered and ignored by tattooed patients. A tattoo can also prevent a dermatologist from running a comprehensive skin check on you (not me.. I'm never getting a tattoo after typing this). With skin cancer,early detection of moles and other cancer signs are extremely important.
SUN EXPOSURE: Aha no one can escape this.. unless maybe you have a very nice car with a good air conditioning system, but still in this fuel scarcity period, the sun will still gun you down. Sun exposure to tattoos can also cause tattoos to be itchy and raised. This is most common in yellow tattoos which have cadmium in the tattoo ink which reacts to sunlight. Other colours with likely reactions when exposed to sunlight include black,red and blue ink.
MRI: This is rare and may affect only very few people, buh in the process of taking an MRI test, the iron in the tattoo ink may interfere with the magnetic field of the MRI and cause severe Burns.
If you want to neglect these warnings and still opt for a tattoo, well.. I hope the tattoo image is worth it.
These things happen...
