IS IT COMPULSORY TO WASH NEW OUTFITS AFTER PURCHASE OR IT'S COOL TO JUST ROCK THEM STRAIGHT OUTTA THE SHOPPING BAG?:

"Damn... that shirt is fresh, how much is it,do you have a place I could change?"
"This top is new na, I don't have the strength to wash it and wait for it to dry,it won't smell new anymore,I have to wear it tomorrow."

These are normal situations we go through when we buy new outfits, most of us can't wait to try them on and don't see the reason to wash them before use, believing it's okay, nothing has stained them so they're perfectly clean and safe for use. The question now is,is It safe?...

NO IT'S NOT!!!
Donald Belsito a professor of dermatology who also specializes in contact dermatitis at the Columbia University medical center, New York explains how lice can linger in fabric and also how washing before wearing, possibly more than once should be mandatory.
According to professor Donald, the main problem with new clothings are the dyes used on them.
Most fabrics and clothes make use of Axo-aniline which can cause major reactions when it comes in contact with the skin. The reaction manifests in forms of dry inflamed itchy raised patches of skin or plain rashes, especially in regions of sweating such as necklines, waists, thighs and armpits.
Washing, especially more than once removes excess dye from the fabric, preventing reactions when the washed fabric comes in contact with the skin.

But prof,I kinda have thick skin and an elastic heart, should I wash my new clothes too? I really like the new smell. Lol.

These things happen...
